yeah I remember, but that at least felt SOMEwhat more natural to the conversation. Plus the cussing "a fricking e-cig" just seemed weird. And I mean it's not a comedy, we don't need recurring gags to keep us placated.

I just finished this episode and almost got wrote up during my lunch break because it almost put me to sleep. I'm not sure I can keep following it, the acting is forced and downright painful to watch at times (especially McAdams). The over dramatic eye darting performed by each character is just one of many small tells that the actors and actresses were never in character on the set, never fully immersed, unlike woody and mm in season 1. VV's wife is an absolutely terrible actress in this. Add to that a plot which is as captivating as watching a cow patty dry, and you've got a real disappointment on your hands. 5/10 so far, I'll stick with it because I hold season 1 in such high regard, and because I am still holding out promise for the cast to generate an iota of chemistry.

Side convo:

What is it that you do for a living?

Also, I had to google the definition of "strident". No shame in my game.

I've thoroughly enjoyed the e-cig jokes.

I used to own a bar and now run a small crimes syndicate with an emphasis on real estate. I'm on tough times lately so I've started dabbling with dentistry, I don't think I'm cut out for the work though.

Next season we'll get Leo and Daniel Day Lewis.

I'd love to see a Western type of setting, similar to No Country for Old Men. Big Bend Texas area. Red Dead Redemption meets NCFOM would be so dope.

Best post of the thread, IMHO.

This was the first episode I erased from the DVR immediately after watching, Ep 1 & 2 I at least reviewed parts of it for more clarity. It is what it is and my expectations were lower than many, but I did think it would be better. I am hoping Ray Donovan will not have declined as much but not holding my breath going into a 3rd season.

Is that the mask the assailant was wearing?

I assume that's the relevance of the pic

Yes, that was the idea. However someone also posted closer up pics and it doesn't appear to be the same mask.

Not the same IMO.

But there has to be some significance of the movie set.

The director seemed pretty freakin sketch.

I may have missed it in my quick scan through this thread, but when the gay cop was sitting on the park bench and glanced to his left, what did he see? It looked like someone dressed up in an angel costume. I backed up the DVR three time and still could not tell.

Angel wings giving a BJ in the bushes is what I saw...

He was also looking at those angel tricks out of his apartment/hotel window in Ep 2 when he was drinking the beer..
