I thought The Visit was a pretty good movie and it was just last year. He didnt direct, but he wrote and produced Devil and that was a pretty good movie as well.

He's made far more than one good movie. And this from the guy that just claimed Mark fricking Wahlberg as the same caliber actor of Gibson or even Phoenix.

Yeah Marky Mark isn't Daniel Day Lewis, but he has potential to do good things with a good director which Nightman is not.

I probably care too much about this but shamalan and Sandler just push buttons for me where I get unreasonably angry. frick these two hacks for wasting money and getting rich producing shite.

I'm not even some huge MNS fan, but I have defended him on here a good bit because I feel like it's sort of the cool thing to do to shite all over his movies, when in actuality they aren't near as bad (as a whole) as people make them out to be.

Also, I saw your comments on Signs, and that's a movie I've always defended on here, because I thought it was pretty awesome. I just think most people sort of miss the point with Signs (not saying you did or do, just saying a lot of people miss the point of the movie and just bitch about it being a terrible alien movie).

I admit that some of his movies are bad. The Happening was fantastically stupid, although fairly unintentionally hilarious. Never seen Lady in the Water, but I imagine that one sucks pretty hard too.

Fair enough, I've argued Signs on here before (perhaps even with you). And I get what it's supposed to be, it's just not good. It's like if you set out to build a 747, but your choice of material was toothpicks and baby vomit. 747's are awesome, nobody would argue otherwise, but you can't point at a pile of vomit and wood and tell me it's awesome because it's supposed to be something great. We'll have to agree to disagree

Sounds similar to Identity which is extremely underrated in its own right

Unbreakable is on a lot. It's turned out to be highly rewatchable over the years. It's getting up there with Sixth Sense...and definitely surpassed Signs which is more difficult to rewatch without rolling your eyes.

Lady in the Water
Devil
The Happening
The Visit
The Village

All were pretty lame then and a little worse now (Though, The Village might have been the most interesting of the above.)

Only Unbreakable and Sixth Sense will hold up.

Signs has a modest chance.

A lot of people aren't even familiar with his latest work. "The visit" got raving reviews, and so has this one.

I can't trust an MNS movie after he had Marky Mark talk to the plants.

I actually typed out an explanation about how nonsensical and disjointed the plot and "message" actually are, but the movie doesn't deserve that kind of attention. Suffice it to say "eat a dick pectus".

OK.

I have successfully argued anything Signs before.

I like a lot of M. Night's work. I don't really like Sixth Sense...

I really like Lady in the Water and Signs. Not joking.

Goddammit, fine....

I don't have too much on my plate tomorrow at work, I will go into detail about why Signs is one of the single greatest failures in cinematic history with no redeeming qualities.

You seriously like that movie, or you're just fricking with me? I honestly can't tell, been drinking.

You can just link previous posts you made in past threads if it is there.

I really do like Signs, and quite a few folk here do too.
