The movies I want to watch are always on in the middle of the night.

I know, I think they run them that late because a lot of times they aren't exactly "family friendly" like Clockwork Orange.

They must have a big late night audience too. Insomniacs and night owls looking for something good to watch other than infomercials.

"Suddenly" with Frank Sinatra comes on tomorrow morning at 7:30. Sinatra plays a hitman out to kill the president

I used to watch TCM in the middle of the night all the time when I was single and kind of a recluse... Now I'm married, so I have a shite ton of TCM stuff DVR'd

Yeah I basically recorded the entire week. White Heat, Touch of Evil, Cape Fear, Little Ceasar, Bonnie and Clyde, Nosferatu and the ones you mentioned, among others.
Usually 31 days of Oscars are the best but its been great post oscars as well

Damn. Touch of Evil and original Cape Fear are two I've somehow never seen.

original Cape Fear

Robert Mitchum plays Cady much better than DeNiro. Mitchum is actually creepy/scary without overacting as DeNiro may have done in the remake

ETA: I say that as a huge DeNiro fan

Original Cape Fear is awesome. Mitchum vs Peck...you could almost feel the humidity and sweat in that movie even in black and white. And yes, Mitchum was far more menacing and terryifying than DeNiro. He was just cartoonish.

I agree just didn't want to trigger DeNiro fans.

Touch of Evil and original Cape Fear are fantastic! I always check TCM to check what's playing; more often than not its better than the crap that's on every other channel.

The original is ten times better. And yes, DeNiro acted and sounded like a cartoon southerner in the remake.
