love that damn show. they could come back and do the entire series over with a republican slant instead of a democratic slant and it would be the best show on TV.

season 7 was the tits. did not care for season 5-6. they needed to hae one season with that hot cia bitch as well as ansley hayes in it as well with sam. that would have been it right there.

more often that I should, I imagine, I find myself quoting Toby, "There's literally no one in the world that I don't hate right now."

This show was such a huge part of my life in my late teens, early 20's. the first and only time I had "appointment television", something you don't have now-a-days, ha. I think that weekly anticipation made the experience so much richer for me. I would make sure my arse was planted for it, and I can count on one hand the number I had to vhs tape (yes, vhs, ) because I wouldn't be home. I had already fallen in love with Sports Night, so I was more than ready for this.

The interesting part during those 7 years were all the articles and studies written correlating education, IQ, and wealth to the viewership of The West Wing. It was a smart show and smart people watched it. must be why this board loves it so much,

It's a wonderful string of episodes, but I find the idea that Bartlett was electable at that point, incumbent or not, to be pretty absurd.

How? John Kerry nearly won an election despite being a liberal from Massachusettes and having the personality of an eggplant. A New Hampshire INCUMBENT liberal winning doesn't seem absurd at all. Sure, he wouldn't carry the south, but it's not a flight of fancy that a liberal New Englander could win the presidency. It almost happened in real life.

That's the one with Dire Straits' "Brothers in Arms" playing in the background, toward the end, right? Top 5 episode of all shows.

Got nothing to do with his political ideology.

He admitted to what is pretty much seen as lying about his health, and he has a degenerative disease. And it happened at the start of the election cycle.

Hell. Unhealthy to nearly dead people win all the time. I don't think his MS would stop anyone from voting for him.

Also, he covered it up but didn't lie about it. Maybe semantics but he never outright lied. Heck, if he did, he would still probably get elected in this day and age.

Plus Ritchie was a weak arse opponent.

Probably already mentioned but this is the best scene. The rest of you are wrong.

re: The West Wing
Nope.

It is a good scene but there wasn't ever any real tension as to the result.

Too many angels is simply one of the best political sound bites i've ever heard unfortunately it was for a tv show and not a real politician.
