Any good? Both look pretty good to me and I tend to watch any bigger Sundance successful title. Going to watch both here this weekend. Boards thoughts?

The Way, Way Back features Steve Carell and has a 7.4/10 IMDb and an 85% on RT (84% audience).

The Spectacular Now features Miles Teller and has a 7.6/10 IMDb, and a 92% RT.

Saw both. Both were really good. Way Way back has a more comedic feel, while Spectacular Now leans more dramatic. I think I tend to favor The Spectacular Now(thought it was 2013s Perks of Being A Wallflower) but that could just be because I saw it more recently than Way Way Back.

Shailene Woodley and Miles Teller were great together. Teller's got this Vince Vaughn type of thing going on

Yeah, very excited to see The Spectacular Now, have heard some really good things and it's right up my alley.

More people need to see it, doesn't seem all that popular despite the high praises but maybe it is.

That caught my attention in the trailer alone, the chemistry between them seemed great.

I dont know anything about the new Divergent movies that are coming in 2014, they seem very Hunger Games-ish, but they cast Woodley and Teller together in that as well.

I saw Way, Way Back. I thought it was really good. Seeing Steve Carell play the unlikable character was refreshing, and he did it very well. I think it is better than it's 7.4 IMDb rating.

Way Way Back was really good. Be prepared to want to punch Steve Carell in the face.

Yep. One of his best roles because I can't think of a single thing he's done that he wasn't a pretty like able character.

Movie was great all around. Sam Rockwell and Allison Janey (sp?) were both great characters.

Carrell as slimey....liked it...

But Sam Rockwell at that park was great...

It is Hunger Games-ish in the dystopian manner. There are other minor similarities, but it stands alone. If Woodley plays it right, she could change her career with this role. She'll have to win an Oscar or two to be JLaw levels, but this role will give her a chance.

Extremely Minor Spoilerish Content Below:

Woodley and Teller will not be love interests in Divergent.

Have not seen The Spectacular Now but The Way Way Back was great. Carrell's character could have been my favorite that I have seen him play.

I agree with all the comments on The Way, Way Back. Steve Carrell's acting job was terrific. He really showed his versatility as an actor.

Just finished The Spectacular Now, wow. Definitely lived up the hype.

Incredible movie, definitely a Perks-Wallflower type of movie, but better than it overall.

Highly recommend you watch it, although you can't rent it until Jan 14th, but can buy it which is what I did.

Will watch Way Way Back probably tonight.

The Way, Way Back was quite good. I'm a sucker for coming of age stories, though.

Watched the way way back tonight. Fan-fricking-tastic. Such a great movie. Every character is perfectly done and adds something to the movie.

Just a solid movie.

Watched both, liked both, with the slight edge going to the spectacular now.

I really wanted to love the way way back, but just liked it instead. If they had cast someone other than fricking Toni collette that would have made a huge difference for me. I fricking hate that broad. Adventureland is better, even though I hate kristen Stewart.
