So I haven't been keeping up with the he show. It lost me and it interfered with me keeping up with comic books. Couldn't keep the two story lines straight and separate

Just finished volume 25 no turning back.

Eagerly anticipating release of volume 25: call to arms

Negan is really going to prove his worth IMO. He is a natural leader and balances Rick out in style. I think Negan goes back to his old place and fills the leadership void.

Just read the last issue. Part 1 of 6 War of the Whispers or something like that. If Negan doesn't make it out if this I'm done. I think it's time for him to kill Rick after this war.

So...it looks like Daryl will be stealing Carl's storyline with the Saviors...right?

I guess Carl won't ever get any real character development.

ETA: As for comic speculation...the Whisperer War is boring so far. I don't care about the Negan and Beta subplot, and I don't care about what Beta looks like under his mask. Yawn.

I think that worked in the comic because Carl was still "just a kid" and Negan was amused by this.

This Carl is a teenager and Negan wouldn't think twice about bat bashing him should the situation arise.

This is true, but it still would have been nice for Carl to get a decent story arch. This seemed like a good opportunity for that. He wouldn't have had to stow away in a Savior truck and shoot a bunch of people for it to work.

Just so we get Negan's harem.

I would love to see the reaction to Daryl getting an iron to the face.

I'm not a comic reader but like to get a general idea of the comic book storyline. How in the world does Negan end up in Rick's prison. Seeing what an evil SOB he is Sunday night made me wonder why Rick just doesn't kill him. Seems a far cry from where Rick is right now. Does he start to adopt the "All Life is Precious" philosophy. Seems like we've already been there with Farmer Rick. Why does he spare Negan?

Negan and Lucille's reunion in whisperer war part 3 was great. I still think Rick needs to go.

Short answer. He wants to rebuild civilization and wants to set up a court and punishment system.

Long answer. Because Coral is hell bent on killing him and he doesn't want him to head down the path of just killing everyone that he deems as bad.
Unfortunately this is where the TV show is going to have to make some major changes from the comics as Chandler Riggs is obviously growing up much faster that Coral does in the comics. Chandler is 17 now and Coral is still around 12.

So will we get a war this season or will we have to suffer through a dozen episodes of Rick being a pussy and whatever Carol is doing.

I have a feeling that they may drag it out, and have the season finale being where Rick finally starts to mobilize for war.

How will he cope without her, though?

Can someone explain how the tiger and that whole group fit into the equation?

In the comics, they are mostly just used as a force on another front when our group finally goes to war with Negan.

I think they are going to spend the first half of the season familiarizing us with each new group and all of the settlements, and then the second half of the season will show us how the groups start to form together in an effort to confront Negan, and then it will end, as you say, with them finally deciding to go to war.

This was my least favorite part of the comics, so I'm not very excited.

Just read the latest issue. In the first Letter Hacks response, it ends with

quote:

By the time this issue is in your hands, the SEVENTH season of the television show will have debuted, and you will who Negan killed. (I'm not even saying it here just to be safe).

Daryl!

So great to have that finally out there.

An oh, man is it an emotional time o nthe show. This was a really difficult one for all involved, but we knew we had to go all out for Negan's intro. And man, oh man! Jeffrey Dean Morgan is a welcome addition to the cast. He's so great.

You know what else is great? Answering letter!

Is it though? I'll do it, especially since NO MORE DARYL!!!

Bump to discuss the tease that maybe the Whisperers are coming to the show very, very soon.

There are rumors that the Whisperers will make an appearance in the first-half finale for this season. The next episode description is:

"Someone stumbles upon a brand new society, and this society is unlike anything seen before."

I mean, if it's not the Whisperers, they are clearly toying with the readers. I can't imagine them bringing the show up to date with the comics, though. That would create quite the dance between writers.

I have only read the Negan part of the comic.

I thought I read someplace that the new society is a bunch of kids and is not in the comic books.
