I love his movies.

At least he has original ideas unlike the majority of Hollywood today.

hey came for food, and almost all food on Earth has a very large portion of water as it's component. We may as well have invaded cyanide planet for food. It's stupid.

My other argument on here is, who are we to presume what the aliens were there to do and to understand their entire system?

I mean, the whole perspective of the film is this family that gets information only in little glimpses and from their own experiences. We only know what they know.

What if the aliens know how to get rid of the water in the food after some processing?

I like most of his movies. The only one I really hated was Lady in the Water (your favorite if I remember correctly).

Signs had a twist at the end. You find out the aliens are the stupidest damn things ever and the whole movie was a waste of time.

I rather enjoyed Signs.

You're being hyper-literal about the definition of plot twist. If a movie has a "big reveal" late in a movie that changes your understanding of what happened earlier in the movie, that's close enough for the average viewer to call it a "twist". Shyamalan has more than his fair share of twists.
