Which bizarre, visually stunning movie about life and death do you prefer/think is better.

Both are very similar to me. Each is seemingly normal movie (a 1950s Texas family with a semi abusive father) and a doctor looking to cure his wife's illness.

But both are also equally bizarre with dinosaurs, eternity, spaceships, and mayan tribes. They also contain unbelievably striking non cgi effects.

The Fountain

(it actually is quite poetic, entertaining and doesn't leave the viewer alone on the side of the curb trying to find his way home)

The Fountain is one of the greatest movies of all time and gets nowhere near the love it deserves

I haven't seen The Fountain. But even if it's a video of a steaming pile of excrement, it's still better than The Tree of Life.

Fountain

It's one of the most compelling and touching stories I've ever seen, read or heard. Might even be the most.

Both.

I love both. And Tree of Life sold me on Malick as a great filmmaker. ToL is a wonderful experience.

The Fountain.

It also has one of the best soundtracks of all time.

The Fountain was the most wasted time I have ever spent watching a movie. I was so hyped to see it, and so thoroughly disappointed.

I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate that freakin' film.

You see Rachel Weisz's tits in The Fountain.
That's 1 plus

Every time watch The Fountain it's like it hypnotizes me. I can't turn it off and am so immeresed in the story, the visuals, the music. It's haunting, beautiful and leaves the viewer in a total dreamlike state. I've seen it a half a dozen times over the years and gets better every time.
