Can't say the man didn't bust his arse to get where he is. He seems like a grinder and always on the move working on a particular project (whether we liked those projects or not).

At one point Sarah Jessica Parker was getting paid $30 mil a film so I have no problem with what Dwayne Johnson gets.

My favorite movie that I can think of off the top of my head isn't even an action movie. It is a comedy as you also stated he is good at. I can't think of the name but it is where he is a football player and his daughter who he didn't know he had, shows up at his door.
The daughter stole the movie with her cuteness and acting but the Rock did a good acting job also.

His films make a ton of money. He's not a "good" actor in the traditional sense of the word, but he is a personality, drives people to the box office, and seems like an all-around good guy. I've never heard anyone say anything bad about the guy as a person.
Good for him. I don't like his movies, but he certainly has earned that paycheck. The world doesn't revolve around what I like. Nor should it.

I love the Rock. Most of his movies are garbage but he's just an awesome all around dude. He deserves everything he has.

Really happy for him. Guy came from really humble beginnings and worked his arse off all the way to the top.
His work ethic is insane. Constantly posting from the gym at 3am and then working all day.
