It definitely seems they rushed a shite script to production because it was the best one they could find (with the other shite show Elysium) they could warp into an "occupy" message. So 2011.

well you won't be happy because i am sharing an office with Purge 2. Jason Blum has a model that is working and as long as these things make money he will put them out. Insidious 2 had a budget of less than $3M and made over 30 the first weekend.

Skyline is a strong contender. Alien invasion with a twist, most of the movie takes place within a single apartment.

The Purge had an interesting concept that was turned into a shitty movie by just having it take place in one location.
They are making The Purge 2 and I have no doubt that it will be superior to its predecessor if they just show what's going on all over the place like they should have in the first film.

the budget is almost double the first one with a fantastic production designer, so it should be an improvement.
