bringing piccolo to namek was retarded.
The whole reason they went to Namek was to use those dragonballs to wish Piccolo/Kami back to life...so lets bring him to the planet with the strongest mother fricker in the universe even though Piccolo recently got his arse handed to him by a guy 1/1000000th of Frieza's power.
Wishes that would make more sense:
1. wish for an unlimited supply of sensu beans
2. wish for goku to be immortal
3. wish for Gohan to be ~6 years older

I know it says you have to be pure of heart to use it, but since cell knows everyone's techniques would he be able to use the spirit bomb?

I'm not sure if having a pure heart is required. Krillin was able to use it against Vegeta, but he couldn't ride on the cloud thingy in DB.

I don't think it's required, but I do believe it's a bit more risky if you aren't. An imperfect use, sorta like Goten's "Kamekameha".

I don't think you can form a Spirit Bomb being pure evil at heart. However, it can be a tricky topic.

Goku gathered the energy for it already and Krillin just had to give it shape.
