So what was in the bottle of champagne that he gave to the lady spook at the end?
I think they were SIM cards that Roper and his people had thrown away. If I recall, Pine also copied the serial numbers of the new SIM cards.
First episode was solid. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

Not sure if I would say it's "solid" but I think it'll get one more chance at life on my tv next week. If it's like the first episode off to something else I go.

initial feedback? Is it worth a watch?
As someone said, the pilot was intriguing enough to keep watching.
Not spoilers here, but I don't see how they cram this story into 5 more eps. Seems like a lot to cover.

I've seen all 6 already, and it's worth finishing. Wasn't my favorite show of all time or anything, but it was solid. Beware that the pacing stays pretty much the same throughout. It's consistent with the author's style.

I've seen the first 2 episodes and will watch 3rd tonight. Seems like the main plot is going to be a mix of The Departed, James Bond, and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

Finished watching ep 3. It's just nice to have something on TV that is plot driven and not action driven. LeCarre writes that way and glad to see that on TV.
For those of you who like Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, there is a BBC 1979 miniseries, starring Alec Guinness as Smiley, that is a lot more comprehensive than the Oldman movie.
