You hit the nail on the head.
My original TD account was banned by the movie board. I made a lengthy post about a movie I loved, and it was branded as trolling since I apparently wasn't entitled to have an opinion that didn't meet movie board criteria. And it wasn't in any way related to spoilers. True story. It's why I became such an a-hole.

A board that routinely has 20+ page threads on the newest superhero movies while mostly ignoring more "artsy" directors like PT Anderson, Refn, and Malick can't be considered elitist.

Wait...are you trying to say the M/TV Board is elitist? This board has gone way down hill. I blame the over-saturation of superhero movies. The only time it's any good is when Game of Thrones is on. And even then, it's full of people who don't even understand the medium they are watching.
