You can like an ending and it not be fun to watch.

For it to be in you worst top 5 you really must not have seen many movies.

Second most over used phrase on the movie board.

Possible spoilers

I love the idea for this movie. Opening a window between universes is pretty cool, imo. I'm a big fan of most things multi-verse and across universes.

However, the main thing I didn't like about this movie was the incessant stupidity of the movies characters. First off, the only time they run while in the mist is the last time when the run to the car. Second, they nearly burn down the store. Third, why the hell didn't they get out of the pharmacy sooner?

I'm also okay with a sad ending to a movie, but it seems to me that these people gave up instantly. Did they really need to die as soon as the car stopped? It would have been more believable if they would have waited a few days before they pulled the trigger. Perhaps one can infer that they did, but the movie does not portray this at all.

Lastly, again I love the concepts in this movie. As others have mentioned the social aspects and questions should have made this a great movie, but the religious lady was to much at times. They should have "imprisoned" her some how in the store from the get go. Also her reading from revelations, but focusing on an Old Testament God was ridiculous as well.

I think I would prefer the ending of the movie over the book, if the only difference is the mist still being there or the military rolling up. Because, I have to believe we (humans) would have the ability to do some exterminating.

Although, I appreciate everyone's opinion... I still give The Mist a thumbs down. And it will remain in my top 5 worst for the time being.

I said the ending is great...it's a cool ending. The events in the ending are horrible (for the character), and the irony of what happens shortly after he does that is what makes the ending great.

You do realize they were just actors and you didn't actually witness a murder, right?

Did you like the opening sequence of Saving Private Ryan, even though it showed countless US soldiers dying..?

Righteous Kill
This was one of the worst films I've ever seen. I also thought Cellular was easily the worst.

I actually turned that one off when Dat Phan started doing a cameo bit.

Absolute worst would be hard for me...but Cabin Fever ould be up there.

And oddly enough, it's along the same lines as The Mist.

I agree, but this unhappy ending seemed premature.

I still say anyone that puts this in the top 5 worst ever doesn't seem many movies.

Once again how is this worse the most of Pacino's films in the last decade.

I bet you could re-watch this before re-watching Gigli, S1mone, 88 Minutes, Righteous Kill or The Recruit.

Only problem I had was the really bad special effects for the tentacle creature. It almost appeared that different special effects companies did the tentacle and another company did the rest of the monsters.

I suppose you would have enjoyed it more had they all gone skipping off into the sunset while picking flowers and blowing kisses. Stop being a twat, I'll agree, its not the best movie in the world, but it was entertaining. But I suppose you should just go pick up Paul Blart: Mall Cop, or Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector, they should be more to your liking.

ETA: Any movie by M. Night Shymalan automatically goes into the shittiest movies list. Go watch The Happening if you want to see a truly terrible movie.

i might have liked the mist if the CGI even close to believable. Part of the problem was the actors did not work well with the CGI if that makes since

I don't understand why people hated the ending so much. After he shot everyone and the Army rolled by saving everyone's life, it was the definition of irony and I laughed my butt off. I thought it was a great ending.

I think the director said that part of the point of the Army coming in saving after the shooting was to promote some thought and reflection with the movie.

Note how the religious nut job said that it wouldn't end till both the woman and the kid were sacrificed?
