It looks like a random movie not terrible but its not surprising to the audience if Jackie Chan kicks someone arse like it was with Morita and more importnantly some 12 year old punk Asian kid can't be Billy Zabka. Really no reason to remake it.

Didn't look as bad as I thought it would.

Wouldn't have one real problem with the film if it weren't poaching off of the 80's Greatness.

Same thing I thought. I'll actually think about seeing it now.

it's called The Karate Kid and takes place in China. Karate was invented in Japan

there's also a Taekwondo logo in one of the scenes in the trailer. Taekwondo was invented in Korea.

Looks more like another of the shitty sequels than an actual remake

Can't be nearly as good as the first one.

The Cuban music at the beginning was a nice touch, too.

Doesn't look terrible but why would they focus on a kid and not a teenager.. Looks to be kid friendly and will disappoint because of the lack of reality..

I don't care how badass he maybe, he's still a freaking kid. For me the reality of Johnny being a true badass was important to the original and eventhough Daniel was meak, it was still believable that he could in fact win.

Will Smith's kid

I got a feeling he might end up being a pretty good actor. He was good in 'Happyness'

The original movies were corny as shite too. I love how many of the posters here make out some of those 80's movies to be cinematic genius. I watched the original Karate Kid again a couple of weeks ago for the first time in 20 years. It was still just as laughable as it was the first time I saw it.

Thoughts? I've said it before, and I'm sure I'll say it again. Once again, Hollywood has conspired to ruin my childhood.

The original Karate kid is a great movie. The sequels where they were fighting crime and shite got progressively worse.

Still looks pretty terrible..just not AS terrible as I originally was thinking.

I hope Will Smith's kid doesn't become an actor forever...I hate the way he says his lines. He's pretty terrible.

In the Karate Kid II, didn't Miyagi tell Daniel one of his ancestors was washed up on mainland China and brought karate back to Okinawa from there?
