The Hobbit: Extended Edition?

I haven't seen any of the films, having just read the novel. Google Play has a couple of the theatrical releases on sale for $7.99, and I'm wondering if I should buy them and watch them, or if I should just wait and watch the EE instead.

They made an even longer version?

I didn't like the EE of The first one. I think there was one decent scene with Sauraman but it was offset by naked hobbits frolicking in a fountain and another song by the goblin king.
Disclaimer. I didn't like 1 or 2 and haven't even gotten around to 3.
Loved LOTR. Don't love the money grab weak assed hobbit.

They were just alright, and the main issue is that they were stetched out to 3 movies when they probably should have just been 2. Extended edition would probably just exagerate this.
I haven't seen EE, so I don't really know.

Honestly, you should try to find the bootlegged version that actually abbreviates all 3 films into an epic 3.5 hour long film. It is far superior, and it is an actual great movie instead of 3 decent ones with great scenes scattered about.

Yes. This is actually a really good hobbit film. Both the theatrical and extended versions are not. My only qualm in the version I saw is they took out the "that's what Bilbo baggins hates" song.
