The Hateful Eight is the best Tarantino film since Pulp Fiction

Yes better than Django, better than Basterds, better than Jackie Brown
It arrived to Redbox today for those who haven't seen it yet. Still glad I saw it in theaters although I enjoyed the rewatch just as much.

It was a nice Play.
Filming in ultra panavision 70 makes me think Tarantino was aware of this. So you can bash him for one or the other but not both like the critics seemed to do.

Which one did you think was better?

Fine first half but shitty shitty shitty second half make for a terrible self bloated dump of a movie.

I don't see how you can watch the scene with Warren on the bed with Mannix and Daisy discussing a deal shitty but agree to disagree.

Wasn't as good as Basterds

One of the better scores of all time imo

The movie isn't without merit, including the second half. But I cannot and will not go quietly into the night about such over the top manipulative and blatant content.

The last three weren't even better than Jackie Brown.

This flick seems to be getting polarizing reviews, best QT film or QT worst film.
The fact that it's stirring up a seemingly agreeable QT fan base makes we want to see it even sooner.

The only part that I found overly transgressive was the puking scene.
Having Mannix get shot was the biggest misstep in the movie. If he had been been in perfect health, Daisy's deal would've been a lot more enticing (assuming she was telling the truth). It's easy to decide to kill her when it's likely that you're going to bleed out anyway. Took away some of the tension for me, as I never thought he was actually going to take the deal

Better than Django. Don't know if I'd say better than Basterds, though.
Walton Goggins
ETA:
Nailed it.

Probably my least favorite QT movie.

I agree with you on both points. It didn't take away much of the tension for myself but I can see how it would. I see it as him choosing Warren over Daisy and cementing that he was the real sheriff. Choosing to side with the black man over the murderer.

Like I said Redbox has it. Easily worth $2 for the bluesy if you have a good home setup

Absolutely stole the fricking show in a stacked cast

Several scenes in a row completely took me out of the movie and from then on, I couldn't enjoy myself.
Spoilers:
There was a shot where the focus kept shifting between the foreground and background so much it was comedic.
The cock sucking flashback. We get in Quentin. You think your edgy. You think you're being politically astute. I don't care. The story is completely out of place and unwarranted. Like the breathe fogging up the screen in The Revenant.
Tarontino's Narration: just awful. It was painfully obvious that it was in an adr studio and it didn't fit into the movie's narrative and it sounded like shite.
The puking scene was just over the top. I don't know if we were supposed to be rolling out of our chair with how funny it was but that's the way the scen was shot.
And that whole schlocky winking at the camera bs.
I only saw it once and there's more but I don't want to get into it without seeing it again.
The things I did like:
Liked all the acting from the leads. The gang members, not so much.
Good morricone theme. Not much to the soundtrack outside of that one theme but I'll live with it.
Wonderfully shot
Cool sets
I felt cold watching it.
