Did they actually try to make this movie unfunny? It was like "Springtime for Hitler" and they would make money if it were a flop.
They had about 6-8 actors that are semi well-known, mos of which have made me laugh in the past, but they were all terrible in the movie. And the sub-plots were absolutely awful.

The movie did have parts that made me laugh but most of the movie tried to be funny but failed horribly to be funny.....the whole time I looked at Piven all I could see was Ari

I actually thought the Will Farrell cameo was funny. I like him much better when has very small roles in movies.

Piven in this movie and Paul Rudd in I Love You, Man made me realize that some people are just not made to be lead roles. They are just soooooo much better in a supporting role.

I thought The Goods was terrible. I had seen the Ferrell clip on the internet prior and thought it was funny, but that was the extent.
The Paul Rudd comment, I see your point, but disagree. He did his part in that movie, which was to be the sane person that served to make the other comedic characters really stand out. It's not a great metaphor, but it's kinda like Jerry in Seinfeld. Overall, he's the MOST normal character of the bunch. When you think of your favorite characters from the show, is it Jerry? No, it's usually George or Kramer or Puddy. Yet Jerry is the namesake.
Rudd played his part well, in my opinion.

It takes alot for me to turn off a movie... "The Goods" was definitely one of the few that I couldn't stand finishing.. it was terrible..

Agreed. I turned it off after about an hour, and I have withstood some terrible ones.
