The Godfather Epic on HBO

Its a 7.5 hour mashup of 1 and 2 with all the scenes in chrono order. In other words it begins with all the flashback scenes from 2 then goes to 1 then all of the boss Michael scenes from two. Also has a shite ton of scenes left out of the theatrical cuts. Some just filler but some would have been great in the originals. Of course they would have been Gone With the Wind length.
This is a cool spin on watching these classics.

Is this the same as The Godfather Saga from the '70s, or a new cut?
Did it include the scene where Sonny explains how he knew the traitor was Paulie? (a phone co contact gave him Paulie's phone records). I actually think that scene should have been left in GF1

It does include that scene. That along with a couple more would have added to the original.
Also one where Michaels bodyguard in Sicily asked him what it was like to live in New York and Michael says "how do you know im from New York"
That kind of stuff adds new dimensions to the story.
