The good news for Joe, as a civilian consultant for the FBI you are allowed to kill as many people as you like with the only punishment being a stern talking to by congress.

And it wasn't even THAT stern.
"Do you want to add anything, Mr. Hardy?"
"No."

"No."

Thinking about it more - what exactly was the point of the waiter acting like a grieving father? They were setting up these murders like the times they killed Mark's loved ones and writing messages to them. So why do that when it A) had absolutely nothing to do with any of the new killers and B) gives the FBI a face for a suspect?

Because....The Following.
And, all serial killers love making showy, public spectacles.

As much as I liked this show in season 1. tolerated it in season 2, season 3 is going to push me on to the hate train as well. Way too much hollywood agenda in 1st episode and that Claire would just disappear after Joe was caught makes no sense at all. And why did what's his name have to leave for like 6 months to track down the twin only to find out he never left? Oh yea, otherwise there could be no tension with him and Max. Looks like the writers have written themselves into a corner and have no idea where to go from here. I can see a DVR deletion coming in the near future if it doesn't get better.

Or... You can watch and mock like the rest of us.

that's a definite possibility as well!

Episode 2 tonight!!!
It should be gloriously awful.

Ryan thinks he's found the link between Andrew and Mark, but can't figure out how Joe Carroll might be connected; tensions between Mark, Kyle and Daisy increase; Ryan finds himself in a dangerous situation.

Now that was just sloppy as hell by the writers. Woman down and not breathing, 3 trained FBI agents, only 1 administering CPR while the other 2 look on helplessly. I guess this FBI is incompetent even when it comes to basic life saving techniques.

I'm thinking of starting a cult to get Ryan Hardy to confess to his unwarranted violence against car mirrors. The Side Mirror Cult has a nice ring to it, but I'll have reflect on it for a while.

I don't have many thoughts on last night, other than that box thing was pretty dark, even for The Following, which tries so hard to be edgy.
What would the other FBI agents be doing while Hardy was giving CPR? Just curious.
My only moment was when the secret tunnel was revealed.
Everyone in a city garage has a secret escape tunnel out to the sewer right?
ETA: Oh yeah, just remembered. The confrontation between the killer dude with the chick(don't remember their names, who cares anyway?) and Mark.
The dude is supposed to be a killer right? Why is he so scared of Mark? Dude can just beat his arse. He got punked by Mark.

That was my biggest question of last night too: why are any of them afraid of Mark? You, yourself, are a cold blooded killer. Mark is a whiny little bitch by himself. They alluded they need him to finish "their own agenda" or something like that, but why? Should be craptacular to find out. Other lowlights:
- love the abundance of super hi-def traffic cameras in NYC. And having the one that is stationed in an alley right outside of that guy's garage is just awesome.
- and when they got to the garage, what tripped the silent alarm? They were just outside and hadn't even entered yet. And of course when they do enter and bullets start flying, somehow Mike ends up by himself in a room with the gunman. How is this possible? Did SWAT get distracted by a sweet vintage car he had in the garage and stop to admire it?
- and I love how a forced confession from a serial killer is supposed to be a big deal. If someone wanted me to confess to the JFK assassination under threat of death, I would portray myself as the other gunman on the grassy knoll. Nobody in their right mind would pay attention to any of this shite

That's the McGuffin camera.
Yeah, a guy being tortured and killed by a serial killer with an agenda, forced to 'confess' something the killer wants and..."Oh my God! Truth!"

2 person CPR is the preferred method with one administering chest compressions and the other the breaths. The two will switch positions occasionally so the person administering compressions doesn't get too tired.

Thanks. I am not a certified CPR guy. (though I play one on tv)
Oh. I did laugh a little, when Hardy almost got Jeff busted the first time when he was hiding, on the phone with him..."Jeff!!!! Jeff!!!! Are you there!!!!"

Yeah that was great
And again I love how this show makes it seem like all killers go through internships and are understudies of other killers before graduating out on their own only to mentor a new batch of eager learners.
ETA: Also, the scene of Hardy "peppering" the heavy bag

Normally, those who can't do teach, but with serial killers they have more of an apprenticeship model.
