How the hell does he keep getting work? I've never laughed at a single thing he's ever done.

There was just a thread on this yesterday. Must be on the cable rotation.

Last I saw him was in Bernie, which was an absolute terrible movie. Actually it started out decent enough, but it tanked not far into it. He was actually pretty good in it though, despite its awfulness.

I agree, though it was weird, he was pretty good in showing his range, it wasn't a typical Jack Black movie. The question was about the movie though, it caught me off guard.

You all need to work on your cock pushups before you come in here banging on Jack like this.

School of Rock is terrific
Tropic Thunder is awesome
Tenacious D and the pick of destiny is the bomb
Nacho Libre is a cult classic

He's an awesome singer.

Jack Black is basically the man, and I love him so much

I thought he was excellent in Mrs. Albert Hannaday, opposite Cloris Leachman

it showed his range more than any of his works to date

I like JB, but his instant rise to stardom after High Fidelity was artificial and weird. (It's quite similar, although polar opposite, to Bill Murray becoming a pop culture icon in recent years, which is baffling to me... and I believe he is the second greatest comedic actor behind only Peter Sellers) I am more critical of that than his talents. He has had some good performances in good movies.

How the hell has he not gotten more work, that's the better question. Orange County alone cements him as a comedy genius. Add to that Tenacious D, the band and the show... And the movie, plus High Fidelity, Saving Silverman (also, side note, Steve Zahn is hilarious, too), School of Rock, Tropic Thunder, Kung Fu Panda, Bernie, the Brink, etc. and the man has done really damn funny stuff consistently.
