Well, that is what happened earlier in the series to another illegal family when the son found out. I doubt it though.
True, but wasn't that because the kid wanted to keep fricking that agent and his parents didn't want him involved?

I can see it really ramping up the final two episodes of this season to tee up the final season next year.
Agreed. This is the payoff for investing so heavily in character development. You generally care about so many of the people here: Oleg, Phillip, Elizabeth, Stan, Paige, etc. There's one season left and not everyone is making out alive. When the apple cart tips it'll be fascinating to see who dies, who gets banished to Siberia and who gets a shot at a real life in America.
Great show. Perhaps in my top five of all time.

High praise, but this show really does deserve the praise it gets. Some of their exploits may have been a bit outlandish, but still there is an authenticity to everything.

It deserves all the praise. It's always been believable and never cheesy. I haven't been this invested and interested in an entire cast like this(minus Stan's slapdick son and Martha) since The Wire.

Kind of anticlimactic...you knew something was going to wreck their "back in the USSR..you don't know how lucky you are" plans but that was the least intriguing way it would happen. I was hoping the center would deny their request or force them to leave henry or something to get Philip to want to defect. Next season I think the main story line will be Phillip's allegiance to Elizabeth vs his dislike for his job and country...could see some kind of bizarre Philip and Henry stay while Paige and Elizabeth go scenario, maybe after their deaths are staged to make it easier for them to stay...or perhaps their entire family defects. Will be fun for sure.

Damn next season is going to be depressing.
They are doing a good job with Stan and the possible commie girlfriend.

Man they dangled that out there last night for sure with her talking him into staying in his department.
And this season and especially this episode showed how Philip and Elizabeth aren't heeding their own warnings and reading the signs around them. The whole Pasha scenario and how that could easily be Paige or Henry in Russia. Elizabeth telling Tuan he can't do it on his own and at the end of the episode her telling Philip to take a break and she will keep on going on her own. It's going to be very interesting to see how all of this is wrapped up next season

What was she talking about when she kept saying "I can't"?

She can't go back to the USSR and give up doing this work, especially now that Phillip has access to the head of the Soviet Division (Kimmy's Dad).

Ah, thanks.
I kinda think that while Philip does want it to end, he'd just as soon stay in the US and just be an "American".

Great fricking episode.
Pasha looms heavy in Philip's and Elizabeth's minds, without question.
I have zero doubt that Stan's girlfriend is with the Centre

I doubted at first (thought it was Phillip's paranoia), but they've been addressing it for too long now.
Maybe this is how Stan finds out about Phillip?

I think Philip is going to rat her out to Stan as a going away gift.

I started to think she could possibly be from the FBI, but then she wants him to stay so I don't know if they do want him to stay after what he pulled. She's a spy for sure though.
Last night was very anti-climactic but still the acting is so good that it makes up for an episode like that. It's just a bummer that was the last ep for months..

I think there's more to it than that though. In the musical scene we saw her looking around her kitchen at all the nice amenities she has there and hanging up all her nice clothes in her closet and probably realizing that she wouldn't have any of that shite back in the USSR. As much as she doesn't want to admit it, she enjoys the lifestyle in America as well and is maybe using his new discovery as an easy way to pull the plug on going back home.

I'm fairly certain she is the reason Oleg is getting questioned back in Moscow. They know Stan and him were close and she is prodding him for info.

Every scene with Phillip and kimmy is cringeworthy with pedophilia undertones

That is a solid theory. Especially because the screws started tightening right when he had his pillow talk.

that episode was so good. super excited for next season. lots of loose ends to tie up.
on Kimmy Schmidt they made a joke about how "you know you're in a golden age of TV when a show like the Americans is under appreciated"
