I disagree. All of the things you have seen Philip and Elizabeth go through over the seasons are seemingly coming to a head soon. Philip's "cracks" are really starting to show. His learning that people back home were starving even though they enough to land to cultivate the wheat. Then last night learning that it will take "years" for them to study it. Killing the innocent bug guy. Learning more about his dad after knowing nothing about him then realizing his kids know virtually nothing about him and he them. Even Elizabeth who was always the more radical fundamentalist to the cause is now starting to question (even slightly) if what they are doing is right

I'm not disagreeing that there has been character development.
It's just that the potential interesting plot arcs have flatlined.

I could not disagree more. There's more fricking tension this season than Rosie O'Donnell's belt. The Borov's dinner was so reflective of that.
The last part of this episode was fantastic...the wedding (for real), the approach from the Rezidentura (hadn't been there in a while) and the darkroom. Just...damn!

Ill agree that the storylines and plots have gotten stale
We are in season 5 and it seems like certain plots just keep going in circles
I still love the show and think its brilliant, but I do agree with that point.

I think part of the reason could be that they have an endpoint in sight next season. Things don't neccesarily have to culminate in the next 3 episodes.

I loved this episode so much. The wedding was fantastic. The juxtaposition between how Elizabeth views her thing with that russian woman and her son versus how Philip doesn't want Stan to be another martha on his hands is amazing.
They're setting up a number of intricate plot lines that will likely converge around the middle of next season and come to a head toward the end. i'm super excited. no idea how they're going to end it yet.

If only Stan knew the whole story of the mail robot being " more trouble than it's worth."

The the people bitching about this season can eat it.
Those last two scenes were great, even though they were both "just" conversations.

Best episode of the season
Good god that scene was tense
So was the lady telling the truth or telling her husband what they wanted her to tell him?

I think she was telling the truth.

It seemed like they wanted us to think at first that she was just trying to save the husband but as it progressed it seemed like they were making it clear that she was telling the truth.

But, she was not remotely the monster that Claudia and the Centre portrayed.

I think everyone hates her

I sometimes forget how evil they are. Killing the husband who had no knowledge of any of that is as cold blooded as it gets.

True, but he had also seen them (their disguises were not their best).
More than killing her, THAT was the punishment for the collaborator. To see someone she loved pay for her crimes before she met her ultimate sanction.
Great episode.
