I think he will be demon for quite a few episodes. The "demon" in him from having the mark of Cain is what is keeping him alive.
And it's not like Castiel is strong enough to cure him and the angels are a cluster frick. It will be a little bit for he is changed

I'm personally over the whole, angels being dicks and fighting each other shite.
Saw the special last night too.
Definitely the best episode is the one where they played themselves. Supernatural does this so well. The funny, creative storylines.

Haven't been stoked since season 5, but I'll still watch it.
I want Michael and Lucifer to get out of the cage. And one other thing, throughout the series the theme of family has always been key. But man, Adam sure got fricked over.
I miss the good old fashion monster hunting episodes. that girl from the haunted painting still freaks me out. But of course, you also get gems like this:

I kind of like good guy Crowley. What they need to do is have God step in at some point. that would shake things up big time. Also, more episodes with Death. That dude is just a boss.

Uh... I'm not hung up on that at all. Season 9 was okay. It was better than 6, 7 and 8, but it didn't hold my attention nearly as much as 2 through 5. They have begun to run out of original ideas, so I feel like the show is just rehashing old tropes that the show runners liked about previous seasons. It's still entertaining, but even last season doesn't hold a candle to what the show once was. And that's okay.
