Seems this gets forgotten between the old Superman movies and MoS.
Pretty good flick IMO. Far from great, but not terrible.

It could have been good. It wasn't. Routh was a great imitation of Christopher Reeve- not his fault. The script was a bad remake/rework of the original, except Lois Lane had no balls and she had Superman's baby. The story had no emotional resonance. It wreaked of homage bordering on parody. The writing was bad. Routh was a great Superman.

It was bad... it was more like an episode of that chick cable channel than an action movie.

Reeve had tremendous on screen charisma..Routh doesn't and that story line was weak. Glad that Nick Cage never got to play Superman though that would've been a train wreck.

Honestly, with how bad BvS was, I kind of wish that Cage movie would have been made. Probably would have been so bad that it was funny.

Superman Returns is basically beta version of The Force Awakens. Just two hour tribute/remake of the original Superman. Lois Lane was horribly miscast and there just wasn't enough action. Doesn't help that they cut 1/4 of the movie which was Luther tricking Superman into going back to Krypton.

The plane rescue scene is pretty awesome but the movie falls apart as it goes along. Lex's plan was stupid and making Supes a bit of a stalker w/a bastard kid was awful.
