Mommy Dead and Dearest - true crime doc on HBO right now about DeeDee and Gypsy Rose Blancharde

Watched it last night. Worth a watch. That mom was something else.

And you get some South Lafouche accents.

Three Days in September about the Beslan School Massacre is very good but will ruin your day, week or month.

I'm gonna have to watch this one. The Beslan School Massacacre has always intrigued me since the moment it happened.

I would recommend

Tell Me and I Will Forget South Africa's paramedics face a surge of violent crime and historic social change 15 years since the end of its oppressive Apartheid era.

and

The Pruitt Igoe Myth The documentary argues that the violent social collapse within the Pruitt-Igoe complex was not due to the demographic composition of its residents, but was a result of wider, external social forces, namely the declining economic fortunes of St. Louis and the resulting impact upon employment opportunities

Several great documentaries have been named, but the Duke Lacrosse 30 for 30, Fantastic Lies, is amazing, sad, and frustrating all at the same time

Thin Blue Line
Seven Five
The Salesman
OJ Made In America
Senna
The Act of Killing

All of those are remarkable. You might also appreciate Documentary Now! If you've seen a lot of docs

ETA: If you haven't seen The Thin Blue Line, I'd jump on that first. At least within my suggestions. It's the only documentary I've ever seen that gets a man out of prison by itself. He was released shortly after the doc came out

I watched Magnus the other day and thought it was pretty good. A little slow, but good. About the chess prodigy from Norway.

House of Saddam is a four part mini series on HBO Go. It's a dramatization, not a true documentary, but it is an incredible inside look into just how insane Saddam and his oldest son were. I've seen it twice and will be checking it out again soon.

I second this. It illustrates you how Cops can sometimes get it wrong, and it shows how being at the wrong place at the wrong time can really frick you up.
