Star wars Rogue One spoilers

Mads Mikkelsen said he plays the father of the main character played by felicity jones. Supposedly he was the architect of the death star and becomes horrified of the results of his work and tips off the rebels. They then recruit his daughter to steal the plans.

Ummm you can't spoil Rogue One. We all know the end result of it during Episode 4. Although, Wasn't it Palpatine who leaked the Death Star plans on purpose?

Ohhh I wonder if they sent Rogue One to also do the plans for the second Death Star and if so, does that mean they all died like Palpatine alluded to in Episode 6?
