Been rewatching the Star Wars movies in chronological order leading up to Force Awakens, and just wanted to make a comment or two about the prequels. Last night it was Attack of the Clones, my least favorite of the prequel trilogy (so obviously the entire franchise) and so I haven't seen it in a long time. White everything Plinkett ever said about the movies is definitely true and actual good criticism, the movies are much better than I remember if you watch it "from a certain point of view".

I basically watch the prequels now thinking of Obi Wan as the main character, and I suggest every one else do the same. He single handedly tracked down Jango Fett and located the apparently unknown Clone Army, while Anakin was off with Padme in the most cringe worthy scenes of all time that basically brought down the entire movie

Ewan McGregor's Obi Wan is by far my favorite and most consistent portrayal throughout the prequel trilogy. He grew the most, from Padawan, to Jedi Knight (an exceptional one) to Master and on the council. And he basically defeated most of the bad guys throughout (other than Dooku): Darth Maul, General Grievous, Anakin were all put down by Obi Wan.

Anakin scenes definitely suck, there's no denying, and the prequel is definitely intended to be the story of Anakin's rise, fall, and transformation to Vader. But if you just try and watch it from the perspective of the rise of a Jedi knight who rose to become basically the most capable and accomplished Jedi, who tragically was betrayed by his friend and former apprentice, it can be a much more enjoyable viewing.

And Obi Wan went on to train Luke and put him on the path to taking down the empire, so his list of accomplishments grows even further. To Obi Wan, the true hero of Star Wars!!

One more random thought about the prequels: there are definitely some extra touches in the movies that I haven't noticed before that show Lucas did have good intentions and care for the franchise (despite a lot of major things he did to the contrary).

In the scene where Anakin murders the entire village of Tuskan Raiders, I've never noticed til last night that you hear Qui Gon Jinn's voice saying "No Anakin no!" It was a neat touch I've never noticed before.

I would agree that the only redeeming thing about the prequels is Kenobi.

I'm the opposite as I was a child when they came out so I liked them. However, I dislike them more as I have got older and they get worse with every viewing. I seem to notice stuff that doesn't make sense or is just plain stupid every time I watch them. Not to even mention how boring they get in parts. Plinkett reviews are just so spot on in every way. As for Obi Wan, part of TPM's problem is that everything Qui Gon did should have been Obi Wan as he did nothing most of the movie.

Ewan McGregor's Obi Wan

Was the only (ONLY) redeeming quality of the prequels. If someone just edited down his scenes, it would be watchable. Maybe add one scene where he asks Yoda about the metachlorines and Yoda responds "A theory it was, and a bad one at that, hmph".

If someone made that they would be rich yesterday.
