I have watched every episode of Rebels with my son who is 10. We started watching in season one when he was starting to enjoy SW and started collecting toys. Great series so far.

But.....we just started watching TCWs on Netflix and have got to episode 10 of season one. I think if what we have seen so far holds up it is better than Rebels. I really like the narrator who recaps the previous episode as the intro to the new episode. He sounds like the guy from my childhood who used to narrate the Super Friends. Their are so many more characters and places involved as well. Not so much just following the Ghost of Rebels around mission to mission. Animation seems better as well but that is likely due to the fact that there are so many more colorful characters and machines/ships.

They introduced Captain Rex in episode 5 but not sure if it is the same Rex as in Rebels. This one is skinny and bald with no facial hair. Rebels Rex is a lot stockier with gray/silver hair and facial hair. Has he changes that much in the few years between the two eras?

Also like how Saw Gerrera was introduced early in the series and how some of the characters semi curse. I know "hell" is pretty tame but it still surprised me to hear it said a few times after watching Rebels. Just seems more raw as a series.

The Clone Wars series is really some great Star Wars to watch and really puts the prequels into a whole new light and could soften a prequels hater pretty good.

Seasons 3-6 are fricking amazing to watch and there's so many great plot lines but the most consequential of them all is Yoda truly learning the ways of the force and that helped him prepare to teach Luke Skywalker and that was a fitting end to the series.

I'm waiting for the Rebels series to finish before I start it. I want to binge watch it.

Without spoiling anything. It also touches on some more reasons for Anakin to begin distrusting the Jedi.

Indeed.

Ahsoka Tano in season 5 is central to that premise.

I'm really hoping she will show up in a live action movie sooner or later.

It's the same Rex.

To put it into perspective, Ahsoka is 13 years old in Clone Wars.

In Star Wars Rebels, she's 30.

If Ahsoka is still alive somehow, she'd be in her early 70s in Episode VIII.

Okay, thanks. I can see him being aged and hardened that much in 17 years with all the battles he had fought.

Remember the timeline:

The Phantom Menace takes place 10 years before Attack of the Clones.

The Clone Wars Series bridges the 3-year gap between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.

Revenge of the Sith takes place 15 years before the Battle of Scarif.

Star Wars Rebels begins 3 years before the Battle of Scarif.

So its worth watching for anyone? Not just kids? Seems like it's appealing to a large audience. I need something new to watch.

This is one of the best animated series ever. So much detail in some of the backgrounds. I watched it all over a several month period last year. I so wish they'd continued it, because it was just spectacular.

Regarding the comment about Ashoka being around 70 during the new trilogy, any idea how long her people live?

I thoroughly enjoyed it. IMO it is a must for any big star wars fan. It really adds a ton to the universe and adds to the prequels immensely.

Certain episodes are very well done, but overall, it is a kid's show and doesn't usually hold my interest when I try to watch.

I believe Rex mentions the clones growth acceleration when he was reintroduced in Rebels. It explains why he looks so much older despite it being roughly 15 years after the end of TCW

Just saw the Saw episodes and pumped to watch him on Rebels. I binged Clone Wars over the past 2 weeks and I'm on season 5 now. Just finsihed a several episode arc following a group of Younglings and all I could think about was how Anakin was going to kill them all. That poor little Wookie youngling.

Side note: Hondo is the best

I rewatched those episodes a few weeks back with my nephew. Gungi is the best

I'm confused though, there's Sidious who is the master of Count Dooku, AND Dooku has an apprentice? What happened to the rule of 2?

Sith are like Bama and constantly bending (breaking) the rules.

Idk, someone dies every episode it seems. I thought that wasn't a good thing?

I'll take a shot at this:

Darth Maul was Darth Sidious' apprentice. When Maul is apparently killed on Naboo, Sidious takes on Dooku/Tyranus as his apprentice.

Asajj Ventress isn't so much Dooku's apprentice as she is his minion. She's an assassin basically on retainer for him, and only taught enough to be a killer, not a full apprentice.

When Dooku thinks she's dead, she and Talzim take advantage of that to insert Savage Opress in as his new assassin, but that backfires when he turns on both of them.

Maul takes his brother on as an apprentice in an attempt to usurp Sidious, but that ends very badly for him.

When Anakin kills Dooku, it falls into Sidious' plan to turn him and make him his apprentice.

In Star Wars Rebels, Maul is attempting to take Ezra as an apprentice.
