I don't have a problem with the switching of gender roles, but.........that just looks like a bad on screen couple, IMO.

Good God. I knew Hollywood was out of original ideas, but now we're just taking old movies and remaking them with gender roles reversed.

The original was a mispairing too. Tom Hanks isn't exactly the ideal man when it comes to looks. It's not like you can look at him and think "Oh yea, no doubt he pulls prime Daryl Hannah"

I think that Hanks had a better shot at Hannah than Bell would have with Tatum.
Though we all know that real life Hannah was all about chasing the fame when it came to men.
