The mom from Field of Dreams. One of the biggest reasons I can't stand that movie.

Agreed. At least Gilbert is fricking hilarious and it's completely an act.

Diane Rehm - host of an NPR radio show. She has spasmodic dysphonia - involuntary spasms of the vocal cords. In theory - kudos to NPR. In reality is I just can't stand her voice and immediately change the channel.

She actually has some pretty interesting guests. But yeah, it's painful listening to her talk.

I agree with you. They replay her show all the time on Sirius. Car Talk, Wait, Wait and Splendid Table only get one replay though.

I thought about posting him in the other "Voice" thread. I think he's got a great, booming voice.

You a State Farm agent that's been losing business to the Allstate guy?

I hate listening to anyone with that trashy New York/New Jersey accent.

I posted about how I couldn't stand the mom in Big in the Tom Hanks thread. Mercedes Ruehl's voice was part of the problem. Drescher may be the worst of all of these types.

I was wondering if it bothered me more than others because I'm a Southerner. You guys all Southerners too? Is that part of it?

I know some Brits that hate hearing the Cockney accent. It's kind of the same trashy thing for them.

Juliette Lewis when she's whining. That sound is unbearable.
