Looking through a list of "rising male british actors" and damn some of these kids are ugly. But based on acting chops and physical presence, who would you think would make a great bond?

Tom Hardy
Michael Fassbender
Theo James (4 from divergent)

Fassbender...but that will never happen

Henry Cavill would be great but that also would never happen

Fassbender
Cavill
Hiddleston

In that order

And I like Craig, but I'll always miss the chance of Clive Owen getting a chance at Bond. He could have been fantastic.

I'll throw Hemsworth into the discussion too.

I've heard Damian Lewis mentioned and it was very intriguing.

I like Lewis as an actor, but i don't see the "sex appeal" angle with him. Let's face it, Bond is supposed to be a suave ladies man.

He's too puny. and yes, he's too old.

He's not that great of an actor. I've watched Dr. Who as well.

Craig is perfect for the role. And yes, i think he's a good actor. I like him in Layer Cake.

Why do you respond in these threads unless you are here to troll?

Tenant is too old. What don't you get about an actor being too old to play bond. That is the problem with craig. They cast him when he was old, so now they are looking for a replacement. Why would you replace him with another old actor if they are only good for 1 or 2 movies tops? By that metric, might as well cast Ian McKellen as the next bond.

I despise Craig's Bond.

Samuel Anderson's a good actor. I've liked him in History Boys, Casualty, Trollies, and, yes, Doctor Who.

Is the 'character' and 'canon' of Bond important or not?

I've only seen him in Who, and didn't particularly like his character. I haven't seen the other movies you listed.

Explain. Canon? Do you mean the history of bond, as in bond needs to keep getting older? Not sure what you are asking me here.

Well you said Tenant should be Bond. I don't know how that's not a troll.

Based on all the factors. Age, look, Brit...etc. You won't get a huge star to play Bond, mainly because of the time factor. It limits the other projects you can take on. On the flip side, there is a real dearth of young British talent right now who could actually take on the role.

I think this is the 4th Bond thread I've touted this guy in. He hits all of the factors, and he would be throwback to Connery as far as "look".

Henry Lloyd-Hughes

aka Ralph Fiennes and Lliam Neeson's love child.

That bowtie is way too large to be considered a legitimate bond.
