That was a great episode. Truly awesome television. The actor that plays Cooper does a hell of a job.

How long until Sammy finds out about Ben being behind the attack?

Can someone remind me what happened with Det. Adams and her ex-partner she met with? Drawing a blank on that one. Why did he apologize?

looks like they are going to clash on the season finale next week. At least that was what the preview suggested last night.

I think he leaked some photos from Lydia's phone to the press during a murder investigation. He got a lot of money from them for doing that.

But obviously, he lost his job because of it.

Cooper had recently questioned whether or not he wanted to continue as an FTO - will Lucero's death make him retire?
The writers did an excellent job on the warehous scene - having Cooper and Lucero laugh at the seeminghly bungling burglar which made them relax their tactics.

well shite, thought I was doing my part by watching it every week.

I guess the ratings aren't that good. This would suck, I've enjoyed this show over the past few years.

Its an underrated show but maybe being on TNT is the problem...

The just squeezed a 90 minute show into 60. I wonder why. Like the helicopter and the last suspect.

now that I think about it, I guess what happened to Cooper wasn't as shocking.

I mean just look at how his life had unfolded to that point.

It was tragic all around.

I guess he just had enough and finally snapped. The job gets to a lot of people, and add in a mediocre to shitty personal life and you have a very moody and unhappy person that's bound to go off the rails sooner or later.

Ben made a rookie mistake there. Sammy may have screwed up with the tape but what Ben did was worse IMO and he has no leg to stand on.

Great finale. Really hope there's a season 6.

yeah, I can see that. but it isn't all about "snapping" and having enough to me. I mean, what was he doing at his "wife's" house anyway in the first place? Come on, he was gay. But I guess he felt differently after all that shite with Lucero and how that unfolded. I guess he felt like life could be shorter than it seems sometimes.

then that veteran cop that was his mentor questioned him on why he surrendered his weapon in the first place as it pertained to that whole hostage situation... then that shootout at the end took his life??? I mean there were a lot of things that went wrong for the guy and the irony was overwhelming.

and I guess that since there was so much irony, it made for a good ending. Sure, it wasn't how we wanted it to end but sometimes I guess endings like that make more since??

You would be right.

I have to wonder if Sammy is going to stick with patrol or not. He was a better patrol cop than a detective.

We know that Ben and Sammy are sure as shite not riding together anymore. Hell, they probably won't even speak to each other for a very long time.

I hope there is another season. It seemed like there was the same kind of talk last year also. But it is hard to keep a series going on TNT I guess.

C. Thomas Howell was going on about how the show was on the bubble.

Hopefully there will be more

I hope so too.

BTW, I guess I was right about making this into a season long thread. Not much traffic on this board for it. Hopefully next season is better in that regard.

I am pretty sure that was the last Southland we will ever see.

The actors that play Ben and Sammy have signed on for pilots in 2 different shows that will air on CBS next year. I can't see the series going without them and Cooper.

That was a great finale but I hated to see Cooper go out like that.
