The franchise deserves better than those 3.

It would never happen, but it would be epic to just come out and say those 1000% didn't exist and we're completely remaking them.

They could have been so awesome. fricking taxes and midiclorians.

I guess they could but Lucas might have put something in contract not to touch the original 3 and prequels.

The only way they could do it properly would be to do the following:

1. Combine the Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones into one film.

2. Combine the best parts of the Clone Wars series (specifically seasons 4 and 5) into one film.

3. Refine Episode III but end with Ahsoka and Rex parting ways.

Simple -- put the PT in the "Legends" category.

Think the PT as the World War 2 story in Idiocracy. Short oral legends, Darth Vader's faulty, partial recollections and a some tiny scraps of actual news left over after the Imperial purge were all blended into bizarrely inaccurate, poorly plotted and ineptly directed movies. Good music though.

What actually happened with Palpatine, the rise & fall of Anakin, Darth Vader and the fall of the Republic may never be known.

They are doing it right now. Kylo is in a lot of ways what Anikan should've been in Episode 3. Severely conflicted and untrained, tons of potential, violent outbursts, torn apart.

I'm sure his time training under Luke and then getting corrupted by Snoke is what Anikan should've been in Eps 1 and 2.

Luke, like Obi-Wan, is a largely untrained Jedi full of potential who's master died too young. So when he tries to train someone he doesn't have the skills or experience to pull it off.

It would be cool to film the same plot through new/additional characters' perspective as a means / justification for basically reshooting the movies. Also expands the narrative and, in particular, would spare us the love story builshit in Ep 2.

That's because the PT should have been from Obi Wans POV, not Anakin. Hard to sympathize with a child murdering, wife strangler and then think, well, he's still OK, deep down. Much better to see the events from another's perspective.

Just remove the Phantom Menace entirely, make Obi Wan recruit Anakin directly, and the Clones aren't Stormtroopers but monsters that Darth Maul commands.

Yeah, bring in Ahsoka clearly, but I might mix it up a bit. Also have Anakin kicked out of the Jedi Order when Mace Windu discovers his secret relationship with Padme. In the end, he's taken under the wings of Palpatine as his chief enforcer, with a Vader looking suit save for the mask and the fact that it's red like his guards.

Here's what I'd like to see: Mace Windu takes Ahsoka under his wing as his new apprentice after Anakin is expelled from the Jedi Order. Palpatine tips Mace off to Darth Maul's location, and Palpatine also tells Anakin where to find him. The three meet up and Anakin attacks Windu as well planning on blaming Maul for Windu's death. They have a 3 way duel, with Anakin being the ultimate victor. As he kills Windu, Anakin hears another lightsaber in the background, and it is Ahsoka. Anakin can't bring himself to kill her, so she flees and warns the other Jedi. She is eventually directly killed by Palpatine in front of Anakin when she and some other Jedi go to face off with him. Anakin then swears revenge on the Emperor for it, but is now forced to hunt down the remaining Jedi to save his own skin.

I mean, Anakin shouldn't have been a child killer. You don't need to go from 0-60 in the course of a single movie. He was in a suit where he couldn't eat, breath, or have any physical relations with anyone for 2 decades, and that's plenty of time for him to become the mass murderer we see in ANH.

Granted, I still would have had him kill Padme by choking her to death. She should have told Anakin she lost her child due to him becoming a monster, and then instead of hitting her, he force chokes her to death instead. The template for a Young Vader should have been Michael Corleone.

No because there is already so much new cannon that is tied into the ongoings of the first three films.

There are way too many continuity problems and plot holes to try and recraft Lucas' story in the first three films. If it could be done, which it can't, it would be best to just scrap everything in Episodes I-III and rewrite it as if its the day after ROTJ is released.

Yes, but it wouldn't happen until George is dead.
