Something I never noticed until recently about Hook...

Watched this in the theatres when I was 9. Now my 2 year old daughter is really into the movie.
Anyway, when they hop the plane to England, and they're having turbulence, the captain comes on to the loud speaker to address the passengers...I'm pretty damn certain the captain of the plane is none other than Captain James Hook. Anyone else notice this before?

I vaguely remember something raising my suspicions, but don't know if it was that. Will have to watch again.
But being that Schmitty is the janitor at the very end and living in a parallel universe, it would make sense that Hook also did too.

I just listened again. It's definitely him. They mask it with the rattling of the plates and silverware because of turbulence, but it's definitely Hook.

Yep. Pretty neat for them to do that.

"This is your captain speaking."
It's definitely him.

Disclaimer... had the vhs as a kid, my brother and i found it to be incredibly quotable, and we didn't have cable. The viewings added up. I can't imagine how many times I've seen Jaws.

You don't have to explain yourself. It was a favorite in our household as well and I have definitely seen it upwards of 50 times. Have always loved it. And thanks for pointing this out OP. Never noticed that.
Edit: I just saw on IMDB that they have the captain quoted as being James Hook, so yeah, it's definitely him.

Have you noticed that it's not a good movie yet?
Well, it took you this long to figure out the plane captain/captain hook correlation, so I guess you're somewhat slow.

Hoffman is good in it.
That's all the praise this movie deserves.

The kissing couple who begin to float when some fairy dust lands on them are actually George Lucas and Carrie Fisher in a cameo.
Maggie Smith, being only 56 years old at the time of filming, was aged up by makeup to play 92-year-old Granny Wendy.
After Peter Pan finds his kids kidnapped he is talking with the inspectors, the main inspector is Phil Collins.
One of the pirates who attempts to steal Peter's shoes when he first arrives in Neverland is played by singer Jimmy Buffett.

I've never caught that before.
And I'm convinced if you can't enjoy Hook you have no soul.

Indeed.
Hell, I'll be honest...I'm damn proud of myself for catching that, my vision sucks but my ears are keen. Certainly didn't read it off of a random movie fact website. Saturday was a victory by 830 this am. Think I'll go have a beer and a paddle on the tchefuncte river.
