because I am not a fan of Ben Affleck at all. With his dropping a huge turd w/ Live By Night, I just wonder, was there something remotely promising about the guy ever?

Well, his first three movies directed before Live by Night are Gone Baby Gone, The Town, and Argo... So I'm gonna go with yes.

It's an alright movie. Didn't find it Oscar-worthy, but I like most stuff with Arkin and the story is pretty cool...but *spoilers I guess:

Almost every part of the ending was completely made up Hollywood bullshite. All that really happened was the flight being delayed for a bit.

Argo frick yourself.

It is a good movie, but I like The Town better as far as Affleck movies go.

It's a good movie but not worthy of Best Picture. Zero Dark Thirty was better.

Argo is another example of Hollywood patting themselves on the back.

Meh. Neither the book nor the movie are particularly good.

It's an OK movie. Not bad. Not particularly great. I don't feel like I wasted my time watching it, but I probably won't ever re watch it either.

Good Will Hunting is a good movie, but it is overshadowed by its sequel Good Will Hunting 2: Hunting Season.

I'm with you, and I liked it in spite of him...I was a first grader when all that happened so it was good to clarify what all went on...for the most part.

What I remember most was Carter being called a puss, and a bunch of tee shirts with Mickey Mouse flipping the bird.

With "Hey Iran" underneath.

Without fricking question. I love The Town. Argo is a decent movie, but it definitely shouldn't have won Best Picture IMO. I saw it when it came out and that's it. Might check it out again later, but that's it.

It's not good. It's more like "hey doesn't everyone look groovy and cool in 70s clothes and hair with 70s rock music playing." It's like that movie with Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Adams, and Christian Bale about catching art thieves or whatever where the setting (70s) is the movie and both movies lack substance. Now Boogie Nights is a great example of something that uses setting to tell a very interesting narrative.

It's fairly overrated and kind of racist.

I liked it a lot. And I like zero dark thirty a lot. I would say Argo has that Apollo 13 feel, where you're nervous they won't make it even though you know they do. I consider that to be a really good movie when you can make me feel that way.

I don't remember it that specifically. How was it racist?
