And I agree with the vast majority of people who say it isn't as good as season one. Which is a shame. I thought the first couple of episodes moved a little slow but the middle part of the season was solid. And then we get into the season finale and all the goodwill it had built up since episode four just completely fell apart. I was not satisfied at all with the resolution nor how they dealt with the deaths of several major characters. There was no payoff or satisfaction like there was in the first season.

I don't know if a season three has been green lit or not, but if it has, they need to do a better job with story progression as well as simplicity. There was so much shite being thrown at me that I couldn't tell what was going on or who was who from time to time. There were also too many characters who got very little screen time in the beginning but who turned out to be important in the end. By the time the payoff from those characters came you couldn't even remember who they were. Season one didn't have that issue.

This season had so much potential but I feel as if they underwhelmed pretty badly. Perhaps it was just a sophomore slump. I'm hoping it was anyway.

It was more convoluted than a Christopher Nolan movie.

Yea, I was also majorly disappointed after loving the 1st season so much. I thought this cast could carry this series into a 2nd season, but I was wrong. The 2nd season could've have been called something else, and I wouldn't have even thunk twice whether it was True Detective. And the final episode just raised more questions than answers.

They need to go back to Carcosa. The setting is as big a reason for season one's success as Woody and MM.

I quit reading threads here after around episode 4 or 5.

Having said that, I felt the same as you here:

There were two things that really stood out to me in the last two episodes that just seemed lazy like the writers didn't even care. One was the way they killed Paul with that guy just happening to be at the same tunnel exit that Paul left. Somebody said 3 minutes beforehand that the tunnels ran all over Vinci. The other was Vince Vaughn taking his gas mask off in the cabin to tell the Russian off before killing him. Did he even need the mask?

There were other things, but I groaned pretty hard at those two.

Where can I find season 1?

I searched Netflix on my kids X-Box, but couldn't find it.

I just looked this up. Amazon Prime has rights, but not until 3 yrs after release, which makes it early 2017, I believe.
