After re-watching it this weekend, my opinion of the movie dipped slightly. Basically, Silva won. Right? His goal was to kill M and Bond's goal was to save her. Obviously that didn't happen. So now Bond is welcomed back to MI6 after failing the trials and failing to protect the chief of his division. Its not like he foiled some larger plot in the process and M was collateral damage.

All of this and none of this happened. I didn't think it was that important to know how he survived; just that he survived. It's one of those "Bond things". He found a way or got lucky.

Yeah I can see what you're saying. I mean he took M away as bait and lost her. But he did kill Silva and stopped the leak of info on Secret agents.

This is what upset me. This has to be one of Bond's biggest failures.

He used M for bait and then got her killed. He sure as hell could have taken more weaponry if he was going to go to his secluded childhood home. Showing up at the house and asking where are the guns only to find out there are none just doesn't seem like a thing a prepared 00 should do.

It was a very decent Bond movie. But I liked Craig's Casino Royale better.

Likewise. Honestly I felt the ending of Skyfall was pretty ridiculous.

Finally watched it last night and pretty much agree with what everyone else has said. Ending was pretty uneventful. Trying to mix old school bond into it didn't work. Why he thought his old house after being abandoned for years would be fully stocked with weapons. Also would of like to know how Silva found them out there so fast and why the bread crumb trail q set didn't work and why. Movie overall was OK but just seemed to lack compared to others.

Yeah, you think Bond would rethink the whole strategy when he realized all they had were two shotguns and some exploding bags of screws. Its not like they were trapped there.

I hate to be so critical because it is a good movie beyond they final climax. That said, the last scene in M's office is badass.
