Damn that's tragic. I was late to the tv scene so I just got done with breaking bad. Was hoping there'd be no drop in quality

Dexter is definitely better. This isn't unanimous but the majority opinion on the board is stop after season 4. I thought it was decent up through 6 and going all the way through 8 would have been more bearable except the ending they chose for the series didn't sit well with most people. But do watch through season 4 at least.

Dexter 1-4 is some of the best television ever made.
5-7 is way over blown on here. They're really not bad. I liked EJO alot.

I watched the first few seasons of Dexter live-ish (cought up to season 3) and really liked it.
however, I was bored and hungover one day, knocked out a few on a marathon. Jesus that show didn't age well. The acting is so bad, characters besides dexter are awful and it is just crony as hell.

It's a little cheesey, but Doakes remains one of my all time favorite characters. And the fridge four seasons I still rewatch all the time.
