Serenity (well marked spoilers)

So my kids and I finished our Firefly journey last weekend with Serenity. Which was a very good movie I thought. It kept the TV show story going but made it a lot better. I didn't feel like I was watching a really long TV episode, like some of the Star Treks.
I'd really love to see another Malcolm Reynolds movie. His character is just too great. And IMO with the following Firefly has, it could easily be a summer blockbuster type of movie. Like the second rebellion against the Alliance.
I feel like I'm mourning a loss though knowing my journey is complete. Sort of like when I finished Harry Potter.
Spoilers***
Totally didn't see Wash dieing. That stunned me and my daughter literally cried because he was her favorite.

****SPOILERS******
Whedon consistently does that to keep the audience with some skin in the game. I was actually convinced at that point they were all going to die getting the message out.

Wash was my Fav as well. i was livid he got killed - but then again, I was livid when Coulson got killed in Avengers.
I absolutely loved Serenity and Firefly. I will say though, as much as i love them - i honestly do not want the show to go on. for how bad Fox fricked Whedon on the show, and his tieing it off relatively well in the film, i think its good right where it left off.

I would love to see a remake with a bigger budget.

Indeed. Whedon was also brought in to rewrite the script for Speed back in the 90s and was responsible for adding Harry Temple's death in the film.
Apparently killing off awesome characters is something he takes pride in.

SPOILERS
Coulson isn't dead. He is the main character for Joss Whedon's SHIELD tv show. Whedon has said that SHIELD takes place after Avengers and in the same world as Avengers. He has basically said watch the show to find out how Coulson is still alive.

One of my favorite Wash moments as well. When he first joins the ship in flashback and Zoe hates him is great as well.
