I haven't really watched much Sci-Fi since SGU cratered. I think the show died in 2011. I think Terra Nova killed my interest in the genre.

What have I missed which is worth watching?

I think the only series I've watched that might be stuffed into the genre would be a few of the netflix marvel shows.

I can't remember the last time I watched the Sci-Fi channel. Probably SGU series finale.

I have watched about 8 episodes of Westworld and I'll wrap that show up this weekend.

No Freaux, I won't give Babylon 5 another try.

Recent Viewings
Stranger Things
Daredevil 1 & 2
Jessica Jones
Westworld

Think that is it. I started Orphan Black but got a bit busy and never got back to it.

They have a new one called incorporated that could be promising. (The head scientist from Stargate Atlantis) is on it so far.

If you don't mind the no ending Almost Human was pretty good. Great premise, good cast.

Black Mirror for sure.

The Expanse.

I also liked Helix, but I don't think that's your bag.

Orphan Black is probably the best scifi show to me of the past several years. It's 5th and final season will be airing on BBCA soon and I believe the first 4 are all on Amazon Prime. It's kind of hard to describe it without spoiling the first episode but it's a conspiracy thriller.

Since you mentioned Stargate, if you like weekly scifi action series, I've enjoyed Dark Matter and Killjoys. Both have been renewed for a 3rd season by SyFy and Dark Matter's first 2 seasons are on NetFlix. Neither are ground breaking but they're fun weekly scifi action shows.

A lot of the Canadian SyFy shows are really good.

Add The Magicians to the list as well.

I also liked Continuum but it did get super messy in the end.

And Myth would hate it so he should watch it.

As much grief as I take, I only really hate on a few things a year.

I think I only went full bore on Batman vs Superman this year.

I didn't try many new shows this year and really didn't see too many movies. Way too much repeat viewing which is why I wanted to get some tips.

Even though I like the new iteration of Trek (sorry Ace) I really hated the new version of Nemesis this past summer. Probably should have done a pictorial of hate for that one.

Have you seen Fringe?

Continuum was pretty good.

Dark Matter is ok.

Person of Interest is a procedural with some great sci-fi elements/themes.

The current Doctor is having a good run if you're into that.

I liked the Expanse - season 1 was good enough that I've read 5 books of the series now. Season 2 starts in January.

Incorprated has some potential - its about 3 or 4 episodes in now I believe?

There's some other decent stuff, but a lot of the bigger networks shows crumble and disappear mid story which makes it hard to enjoy such a short run.

Timeless finished its midseason finale recent - its not great scifi, but its fun (once you get past some of the preachiness) and you can see some strong potential for interesting stories coming soon with the layers they have starting building.

I was in the Fringe rewatch thread a couple years ago. Great show.

I couldn't even finish last season. It is just too over the top nonsensical with almost no rational plotting.

Forgot to count that one on my list. I did watch that and was actually pissed when it abruptly ended. So I do look forward to watching that one.

Fringe was brilliant.

Stranger Things was awesome.

I liked Humans a lot but I know many people who couldn't get into it.

You really should - I'm finishing up my rewatch this week and next. Great stuff. Jurasik's Londo Molari alone is worth the entire series.

I liked The Magicians as well. It's like a darker/adult version of Harry Potter. When does the 2nd season start?
