I remember watching The Ammityville Horror when I was like 5. Scared the shite out of me. Looking back it is a horrible movie.

This movie scared the crap out of me as a kid:

The only other movies that have really scared me over the years:

Event Horizon
The Changeling
Halloween
The Ring
The Sixth Sense
Psycho
The Orphanage

The Exorcist never "scared" me but it freaked me out. The movie that actually scared me the most was The Shining. After that I'd say Halloween, Scream (that sh!t was SCARY when it first came out), and The Ring.

Halloween is the best horror movie ever filmed. I enjoy it at 24 just as much as I did when I was little. The music still gives me the chills.

I remember watching it for the first time and being too scared to move, I was probably 8 or nine. I love it now and may be my favorite movie ever.

Movie that scared me the most when I was a kid was Silver Bullet. On a similar note, the movie "Heathers" got the most emotional reaction out of me because while watching it I realized exactly what death is and was terrified that I might no longer be alive at some point. To this day I find it so weird that that movie set me off. I had to be about 4 or 5.

Child's Play creeped me out cause of all the Voodoo and stuff and me believing it was real.

The thing probably creeped me out the most as a kid, so I would say that one.

Fail Safe and In Cold Blood. I thought the supernatural stuff was BS even at a young age. Reality is always scarier.

In that light, the Zodiac (David Fincher's) gave me a serious case of the heebie jeebies.

The psycho killer shows never really scared me. The ones with demonic possessions and spiritual shite were the ones I found disturbing.
