+90 million profit after the first weekend.

I don't think this one will do as well as TFA or VIII, but what is your guess?

Domestic: <600 mill
International: 1.25 bill

Thats not how it works. It probably wont turn a profit until it hits 500-600 mil. You have to add in costs for marketing, which were huge for this movie, and other factors. Disney gets more money internationally that most other film companies, but they still dont get the full dollar overseas.

Always go by the 2.5-3 miltiplier when it comes to the budget. Thats about the closest guess you can have when it comes to a film making money.

Thats not how it works.

They still have to give the theaters showing the movie their cut plus the advertising budget was massive.

It'll make them a shite load of profit but I highly doubt it's in the black yet.

Marketing isn't normally listed as part of the film's budget.

I think duracell, nissan, verizon, and general mills picked up alot of the marketing costs.

Exactly. Those companies gave so much free advertising to the movie in order to get on the hype train. Also need to include all the toys & games associated with the movie. When did ESPN air the teaser trailer? Tons of websites posted the trailer & began dissecting and discussing it for days. I doubt the promotional & marketing budget is much at all compared to the free advertising & buzz a new SW movie receives.

Or just remake the prequels cause McGregor is now the age Obi Wan should've been in the prequels.

Disney probably makes more this week on Star Wars toys than they made on film revenue on TFA and Rogue One combined.

"That's not how it works."

I know that, but we are only given the production cost to consider. We have no true way of knowing how much Disney spent on advertising and other costs. With all that said, Disney made 90 million over production cost this weekend.

Even w/o adding in advertising they probably aren't in the black just b/c they are 90 million over the production budget.

Again, Disney still has to give the theater chains their cut and even if they raked US theaters over the coals on the percentages the deal they will have w/international exhibitors will not be as favorable.

Ain't that the truth. My little one is getting an X wing, tie fighter, and a Millennium Falcon. Plus a Vader and Kylo Ren figure.

Unless they prepaid on marketing and other stuff, that's not how any of this works.
