Someone is in the middle of a long as response to this. I can answer a few of those questions, but I don't have the time to explain. I would like to know where you get the evidence that Frodo prefers Merry and Pippin's company more.

He just seems to enjoy their company more. I think it might be the 3 actors had a better rapport and it shows on screen. I might be batshit though.

He's a Took and they have a history of being fools. Plus he caused Gandalf to fall into a deep abyss.

Do you blame him? Sam has the gay for Frodo.

No

You see his face in The Fellowship of the Ring when Frodo puts on the ring in front of the Nazgul.

Elven bread though..

I know that but do I need an all powerful ring to see it? What if he just takes off the hoodie?

When Eowyn stabbed the witch-king of Angmar in the face his mask just crumbled, then he imploded and no face was shown.. so I would say that you do need the one ring to see their faces/bodies.

Arwen (best looking)
Eowyn (Human)
Galadriel

Picking up the palantir put him in direct contact with Sauron. He could have told Sauron about who had the ring and where it was. Luckily he didn't.

quote:

Does Frodo even like Sam all that much? He definitely treats him like his gardener and seems to prefer merry and pip's company.

The ring caused Frodo a lot of pain/stress. It started to turn him into an evil, wicked person. Sam just happened to be with him during this time. Frodo leaves Sam his estate, so I would say that is a good indication that Sam was his best/closest friend.

They are leaving Middle Earth for Valinor. These are the lands where they originally came from. Their power had been weakening and the age of men was starting. So they basically decided to return home and let Man govern Middle Earth. Legolas does indeed sail for Valinor and Gimli goes with him.

The Shire in the books is very different at the end than in the movies. In the books Saruman and his agents take over the Shire sometime between the fall of Isengard and the destruction of the ring. When the Hobbits return they end up leading a rebellion and taking back the Shire. Sam would have had ample time to find out if Rosie was single.

Pip and merry...partners?

Just really close friends.

quote:

Yes.

quote:

How does Sam not lose weight? Jesus, he walked far enough while only eating bread.

No clue.

quote:

How did gandalf and the balrog end up on top of a mountain? Did they call a timeout?

They fell to the bottom of a Lake where they fought. The Balrog ends up fleeing and Gandalf gives chase. After a while they end up on top a mountain and the Balrog is forced to fight.

quote:

Did orcs or the balrog kill all of the dwarves in moria?

The Balrog is what caused the Dwarves to flee.

quote:

He was resurrected by Eru, which was basically the supreme god of the world.

Because he wants to keep him straight. You see at the end how he really cares about him and Mary.

Yes, this is in fact a ridiculous question.

Ok I guess I should have read before I started to reply. Read the books.

no, they were cousins. Fredo too I think

They couldn't kill that fire demon, so they fled.

Dunno.

Him and Sam are good bros. He's laboring the whole time with the ring, and we see them have more and more issues in RotK, but you can tell how much he loves Sam towards the end. Particularly when we wakes up after the two of them are rescued and sees Sam standing there. And when he leaves with the Elves.

Where the frick are all the elves sailing again? Is this mass suicide? Does legolas go "across the sea"?

Valinor. Apparently to be healed from the damage of the ring.

Because Sam has seen some shite and doesn't give a frick.

Bros.

Good point.

Gandalf is a motherfricking Maiar who has also seen some shite. I'm assuming that eh and Balrog are that powerful that they were able to keep the battle going on that long and cover that kind of ground.

quote:

Did orcs or the balrog kill all of the dwarves in moria?

Yes. That's why Gimli is so sad/mad. Vast majority got killed.

quote:

How the bejesus is gandalf brought back as the white wizard?

I think he was allowed to reincarnate because his role was not yet fulfilled. He was sent back by the main "god" of the LotR series to take down Sauron.

Wowyh Arwen, eowyn, galadriel or rosy (if you're in to that sort of thing)

Arwen. And its not even close for me.

Why is gandalf such a dick to pip? Like he's never f'd up

Pipinis is a Took. A family known for being bolder, more adventurous and getting into more shite than othr hobbits. Gandalf felt the need to use a little harsher tone with him. Plus, Gandolf can be a bit of an a-hole at times

Does Frodo even like Sam all that much? He definitely treats him like his gardener and seems to prefer merry and pip's company.

Frodo is a class consious eliteist bastard. :). Merry and Pippin are his cousins I think. Sam is his gardner.

Where the frick are all the elves sailing again? Is this mass suicide? Does legolas go "across the sea"?

Kinda their version of heaven. But they don't die. Elves are kinda immortal I think unless killed in battle. I can't quite remember but I think maybe in the appendix, Legolas and Gimli acually go together later. Which would be unheard of for a dwarf. I might be wrong about that though

When Sam just goes and shoves his tongue down Rosy's throat how does he know she's not married with kids? Or seeing someone? Or knocked up? Or free of the herp? They've been gone a long time presumably.

He knew she wanted it. :) Dude was a take charge kind of guy by that time.

Pip and merry...partners?

Cousins I think.

- snip - these have been answered by others.

How the bejesus is gandalf brought back as the white wizard?

From what I understand, Tokien was a pretty religious guy and hewas kind of trying to a European mythology from a christian slant. I think Wizards were sort of analogous to angels or something that (including of course a type of fallen angel).

Im pretty sure Frodo is related to Merry. Maybe Pippin too.

orcs
Pretty sure the balrog, Durin's Bane, either killed them or was the primary factor in evicting them from Moria. The orcs came after.
