Rewatching the Office, Dwight really doesn't get the credit he deserves!

I know Michael gets a lot of the love but Dwight Shrute was consistently awesome week in and week out. He cared so much about his job, the company, and the folks in the office. I know he will have trouble getting other jobs bc he will always be seen as Dwight in whatever role he plays.
Team Dwight!
Team Dwight!

Pretty sure Dwight is the obvious second favorite character behind Michael in the show. If not THE favorite character in the show.....

He's the best salesman in the entire company every season, he cares more about the company than any other person, and he never retaliated against Jim or Pam. In fact, he went out of his way to be friendly and helpful to them even as they were awful to him.
He's the true hero.

I guess you forgot the snowman episode lol
Also, he was pretty consistently rude to Pam (all of the women really). He definitely got his punches in.
There were many episodes after Michael left that Dwight almost completely carried without much help. Doomsday episode comes to mind. Although Jim getting crushed by Robert California in squash was pure gold.

Also, when Dwight bought the building and made all of those cutbacks. The toilet paper separating machine was brilliant. Then, had to put the toilet paper back to 2 ply.
Dwight is not only my favorite character on the show, but one of my favorite characters ever.
Michael!

Michael was worried about Michael first and foremost. Dwight fixing Jim/Pams house showed how much he really cares about his friends even though they torment him.
Favorite Sitcom Characters ever
1A Dwight Shrute
1B George Costanza

Say what?
He thought he was sending in complaints to corporate on a daily basis about Jim and Pam to get them fired.
Toby just stored them under his desk.
He was also rude as shite to Pam.

Dwight is hilarious but don't act like he is a saint. He repeatedly tried to get people fired bc he didn't like them or wanted their job. He even went behind Michael's back to his job.
Not to mention trying to get and Andy and Jim fired when they were managers. Constantly rude to everyone in the office and let's not forget the whole banging his coworkers fiancé on the regular.

He almost burned down the office to prove a point as well. Dude was an idiot.

He's the best character on the show.
He's also the only one that truly changes throughout the show's run...at least for the better.
Michael leaves, I'm not sure he's the hero who changes. You could make an argument for Jim...but the end of their story sucks so much.

also always found it funny how he considered himself and Pam friends throughout

Dwight did come through with Pam when she was outside of the bathroom crying. That was a pretty slick move by Dwight. He really manned up.

I love the way they hint that Dwight might be a Nazi. It's very subtle but it's there.
- Dwight brags on a few occasions about his "superior genes."
- Dwight says that the US got into a war it had no business being in.
- His love interest is a blonde
- Creates an "Axis" instead of an Alliance.
- Clearly a fan of authoritarian leadership
- Multiple references to his Nazi heritage
