I am sure this has been discussed but not in a thread that I've been involved in.

Gilly's baby.

It's such a gigantic WTF? that the entire show has moved on for a few years at least and Gilly's baby is an infant even at the end of this last season.

She was knocked up with the baby at the start of season 2 and while everything else has moved up a few years, it is still an infant.

It's a toddler. It's just retarded and doesn't know how to walk. Product of incest.

It's like Myrcella is on the verge of being a young adult and Gilly's baby is still an infant.

I saw a meme about it and can't find it. You're right though.

GRRM has stated that the reader shouldn't consider all time lines to be in synch with each other. Just think of the Wall time line by itself. She gave birth, and soon after that, came to the Wall, There was a battle, Stannis showed up, Jon Snow was elected LC, and was then killed. I really never thought that years had passed for all of that to happen. It goes by pretty quickly.

That's ridiculous because people at the wall get news and the news they get is in line with the time line away from the wall.

Not in the books, which is the only thing that matters.

Explain the Pink Letter then. Martin also said around the middle of ADWD is when all of the timelines sync back up.

I read book 3 fourteen years ago, book 4 nine years ago, and book 5 four years ago. I do not even remotely recall the pink letter. I don't watch that show loosely inspired by A Song of Ice and Fire.

The letter "Ramsay Snow" sent to Jon ("bastard") at the wall towards the end of ADWD

It's not ridiculous. Think about it.
