I've watched The Pacific and am caught up on The Newsroom. I'm also waiting to watch Band of Brothers with my SO.

What's a good one I can watch? I'm interested in finding something witty and smart.

TIA

You should watch the Vampire Diaries then.

CW is where it's at!

If you're looking for witty and smart, I'd recommend Sherlock (BBC version), it's the most clever show I've seen to date and I watch a lot of shows. First 2 seasons are on Netflix, 3rd season comes out 2014

From the Earth to the Moon

Wonderful - as good or better than BoB (same production team, essentially), particularly if you're interested in space exploration.

sopranos

Good calls, too - but based on his listed 3, I went with FTETTM, as it shares a production team with BoB, of which The Pacific is a companion piece. I'm not a fan of The Newsroom, but certainly it appears similar to The Wire.

The Sopranos closest analogue is The Shield (but not on HBO) - and is, essentially, the multi-season, television version of Goodfellas. Not similar to his listed choices.

Also - FTETTM is a miniseries, like BoB and The Pacific.

The show is set up where each season is 3 90 minute episodes. Sherlock is a detective and solves various cases, so they need the full 90 minutes to setup each case. I really like the show, great acting and film quality. Also, I like that it's a modern take on Sherlock, using forensics and labs, etc instead of the outdated version with just a detective with a magnifying glass

I'm going to get there. I'm finishing a TOS rewatch and then either give Fringe a shot (to prove I'm not close minded because of my dislike for Abrams), BE or House of Cards. I may just catch up with House of Cards then roll into one of the others.

There's nothing else pressing on my list as I still refuse to watch the new Galactica.
