Just finished it on Amazon Prime, great crime movie based on a true story. Bryan Cranston plays a deep undercover US customs agent who infiltrates the cartels and takes down the largest drug and money laundering operation in US history.

I didn't hear much about it when it came out last year. It's over two hours long so some people might have a hard time sitting through it. John Leguizammo (?) is also in it and does a good job. Was this passed over for the Oscars or was it released after the deadline for the last cycle?

Really good. Made American Hustle look like apile of shite in comparison. I only use that example because it's a recent crime movie that comes to mind.

I thought that it was generic as frick. I watched it for the first time a few days ago, but I'd already seen it a million times before.

I think Cranston's acting elevates it beyond generic as frick, but I can see where the story line was somewhat generic, if only because the IRL events the movie is based on have probably been the basis for many other movies. I knew how it ended but still felt tension in all the right moments. Love the sound editing and musical choices in this movie too.

It had a Cocaine Cowboys feel to it.

In came out in July I believe and wasn't passed over by the oscars because nominations haven't came out yet. Although it is extremely unlikely it will get any recognition

I watched it split up, is your complaint with it that it's too slow? Or inconsistencies witg the real events? I could we that being an issue for some, the length.

I honestly just want to know where people's qualms with it lie, I had hardly heard anything about it before I watched it and was surprised that it didn't get more buzz when released.

I haven't seen it. Reviews seem to be generally positive but some say it's a pretty generic/been done before storyline

Did any romance happen with the fake wife that he supposedly had? They made a big deal out of her in the trailer.

No, at least not in the movie. They had a professional relationship.
