I'll go ahead and predict that this one is going to end way before it needs to.

I do find Bill Maher and Ann Coulter's friendship to be incredibly ironic. They have both gone on record saying they are some of each other's most dear friends. They just said they never talk politics outside of when they are on the show together.

Those two have banged for sure.

Ann Coulter

Like her or not, she's one of the rare people who backs all her shite up with statistics and facts.

Because its not just 3-5 like minded people sucking each other off. Which is much of Fox News and MSNBC. And ALL of the Poli Board.

I love the show. Some of the best debate on TV. And living in the land of Red it is nice to hear the opposing view.

It is of course a VERY left leaning show, but Maher does a good job of giving libs shite too. And keeps the masses at bay when they pile on a republican guest. Treats them with respect for the fact that a right winger would go into that left pit.

I love the show and watch the repeat every weekend, including the OT on youtube. But Maher has been on a year long, or longer, anti-Trump crusade which has made the show almost unwatchable, especially lately. He just will not let it go and takes every shot he can at him, to the point I started pulling for Trump for a short time (until I watched Trump talk and lost all respect for him again). He is just totally obsessed.

As an aside, Maher needs to stop telling the Trump's mom f'd an ape joke. I actually admire the fact that Trump only sued him over it (Trump should have won the money Maher promised). I just can't imagine any other person would listen to another guy talk crap about his mom over and over, then not try to kick his arse or take some kind of action. The whole thing crossed a line, one that Maher can't seem to grasp and it just hurts whatever points he tries to make about Trump. Then he wonders why Trump won't come on his show..

Third show was an absolute shitter.

The gay dude did make a good point to Bernie Sanders but it was spun by Bernie (being a politician). When all you talk about is increasing taxes and government size and expenditures, you hurt your cause. People don't want to hear that shite. And it is absolutely true! All people hear is another democrat raising taxes.

He also had a decent point for Bill about mocking religion, and it alienating voters. Maher just doubled down in it. If you tell someone that they are essentially an ignorant frick, they aren't going to listen to you on much else? Gotta learn to pick you battles.

I agree it alienates people, but you really can't have a serious conversation about religion with most religious people. I mean, you can't make a point with someone who's only answer is "because god". That's not an answer, that's just saying "I don't know".

Disappointing he didn't have Ann and Bernie on the panel together. That would have made for some great TV. Ann clearly wanted to go up there with him, but either Bill or Bernie didn't want to do it.

Why even have a "serious" discussion about religion? If you are atheist/agnostic why the hell would you want to discuss religion with the religious? Now, when discussion politics and serious issues a person injects Jesus? That makes zero sense.

There I defer to moral compass, Don Draper from Mad Men. "I'm not here to tell you about Jesus. He either in your heart or he isn't. "

Facebook is rampant with this. Spill your guts (not me but others) to your Facebook friends about a horrendous issue. Drug addicted loved one, divorce, sick child. Then end with "give it to god" or "prayers up"? No cuckoo. How about some input, insight, or advice? Some things there is no advice. Then ask for prayers if a believer.

Applying faith and religion to horrible and tangible issues is silly. That's personal and should be left that way. When a politician brings up religion it sounds ridiculous as well. I want the adults to talk now. If I wanna pray I will pray. Hell I got about 50 churches within 10 minutes of me. This is where the right panders and loses some middle of the road voters. This is the ONLY point they can take from Trump. He never mentions religion. ThT attracts some people. IMO.

Well, he attempted to back in August '15, but he soon realized that if people were gonna ask him questions about the Bible (which he claimed was his favorite book), he was gonna be expected to, y'know, answer those questions lol...

But it's interesting that in spite of everything that's been going on (particularly in the past week), many of the religious right are digging their heels in support of the guy. Which is their right of course, but if that's the way they're gonna go, I sure as hell don't want to hear any more hypocritical moral high ground lectures out of their mouths anymore.

It's funny, as much as I loathe Ann Coulter, she actually made a few points that, if a sane & composed person was running for the GOP & echoed the same sentiments, HRC might've gotten demolished in the election.

Shame that the righties blast Sanders so much...he actually has more in common with Trump than they think. Sure, him and Trump veer in different directions when they get to the end of the off-ramp, but he wanted to shake the government tree just as much as Trump....and I think, regardless of party affiliation, that's something we ALL want to see happen.

Anyway, not a bad episode, but I do agree Maher needs to kill 'em with at least a little more kindness, otherwise the very idiots he speaks of will vote against him out of spite...
