Started watching this series on Showtime. It's pretty good and Leiv Schrieber plays a does a good job.

It's entertaining in the way banshee is, but there's nothing exceptional about the show. Kind of unfortunate actually, because I'd rather see liev schrieber and Eddie marsan's talents in something less frivolous.
And don't get me started on the Mickey Donovan character. Just a total clown show. It's like they are filming two separate shows. You have the Ray Donovan part of the show which is actually quite good at times, and then you have the Mickey Donovan shite that feels like a bad parody.
I really enjoy the Ray Donovan doing his job "fixing" problems aspect of the show. It's when they decide to start focusing on the rest of his family, specifically the brothers and Mickey, that I lose interest. This last season 3 story between Ray, Ian mcshane's billionaire finney and his daughter played by Katie Holmes has been my favorite of the three seasons. But again, it's hard to get past the shitty acting and ridiculous behavior of the rest of his family, save marsan's portrayal of terry.

Yeah, season 3 is just as good. Some emotional scenes in the latest season that put the entire show on another level.

Here's a show where none of the characters are noble in the least and yet I find a way to pull for some of them. Mick is a certifiable POS and still he amuses me with his selfish antics.
